Privacy Policy
Effective 25 October 2026
The short version: OneTake works entirely on your iPhone. Your recordings, videos and settings never leave your device. We don't collect personal data, we don't track you, and there are no accounts, ads or analytics.
Who we are
OneTake is made by Alex Nat, an independent developer in Melbourne, Australia. If you have any question about privacy, email us.
Your recordings stay on your device
When you open a video or audio file in OneTake, the app makes a temporary copy inside its own private storage on your iPhone so it can analyse and process the sound. All processing (balancing, cleaning up, reverb, loudness) happens on your device. Your audio and video are never uploaded, sent to us, or shared with anyone.
Temporary copies are deleted automatically when you open your next take, and iOS may clear them at any time. Your original files are never changed.
Photos and Files access
- Choosing a video: OneTake uses Apple's photo picker, so the app only receives the video you pick. It can't see the rest of your library and doesn't ask for library access.
- Saving to Photos: if you tap Save to Photos, iOS asks you to let OneTake add items to your library. This lets the app save your finished video, and nothing else. You can change this at any time in Settings › OneTake › Photos.
- Files and sharing: files you open from the Files app or share into OneTake, and files you save or share out, go only where you choose.
Data we collect
None. OneTake doesn't collect, store or transmit personal information, usage data, diagnostics, identifiers or location. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it works without an internet connection.
Settings you choose in the app (for example, whether you've seen the introduction) are stored only on your device.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. These don't identify you and don't include your recordings. You control this setting, not us.
Purchases
If OneTake offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, they're handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
OneTake doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age where you live).
Your rights
Because we don't hold any personal data about you, there's nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Deleting OneTake removes everything it stored on your device. Under the Australian Privacy Principles, the GDPR and similar laws you can still contact us with any question or concern, and we'll reply.
Changes to this policy
If OneTake's handling of data ever changes, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect, and describe the change in the app's release notes.
